Motorcycle tourism “dirt roads” between 9 castles in the Marche
Is called “The white women of the castles” the new route dedicated to motorcycle tourism “adventuring” which crosses nine villages in the Marche, between the provinces of Ancona and Macerata. I “castelli” are those of Apiro, Cingoli, Cupramontana, San Paolo di Jesi, San Severino Marche, Serra San Quirico, Staffolo, Tolentino, third. “White” I'm, al 70%, the roads to travel along a route of 160 km, among luxuriant landscapes, vineyards and green hills, e “bianco” it is also the main wine of the area, the Verdicchio. The route is suitable for Enduro Street bikes with Trail type tires (30% off e 70% on) even in case of rain. You go along it in 6-8 ore, with short stops between places of art and food and wine, and the possibility of staying overnight in a vast network of widespread hospitality.

The itinerary “The white women of the castles” it is organized by the community cooperative “Borgoland” in collaboration with Pietro Vitali of Orma Project, and is an integral part of a vast social and economic development project for small hinterland towns promoted by the cooperative founded by Staffolo in 2020 on the initiative of local residents and entrepreneurs. Thanks to them, in just two years, the historical center of the note “city of wine” it has been repopulated by small economic activities: the Tufo hotel restaurant&Clay, a bar with bakery service, the kiosk in the public gardens, a destination for young and old, un info point, a store of typical products, fitness classes for residents. Activities to which are now also added the routes in motion, by bike and trekking, not only in Staffolo but among the most common.
The president of Borgoland Nicola Valeri. comments “The project focuses on the quality of life of the village through the discovery of crafts, of traditions, community spirit. the ways of saying and doing typical of small Italian rural communities”.
For motorcycles and’ a loop route was developed, with departure and arrival in Staffolo, suitable for all the maxi enduros so popular now. The path is deliberately easy and contemplative and clearly those with Enduro ambitions can use it as a starting point and then go and look for other variants., but anyone can download the track for free from the site and take part or all of the route.
The route is actually perfect for a ride even as a couple or to create a group of friends who want to enjoy it in a contemplative way. These are roads that are regularly open to traffic and a little attention must be paid. The track makes a ring with the furthest point in San Severino Marche, passing through 9 several municipalities, each of which is worth a stop.
