An authentic man, of great thickness, enlightened entrepreneur
He passed away yesterday at the age of 78 years, defeated by an incurable disease, l’ friend Luciano Battisti, historic MotoBI rider, splendid person, with an extraordinary passion for motorcycles. Great collector, possessed beyond 200 pieces, including some rare jewels that had made the history of motoring. A person of great generosity was always ready to make his Benelli motorcycles available for every event organized by the Motoclub Benelli.
Owner with his brother Paolo of an established company that produces burners, “he overlooked” sometimes the business to devote himself to his passion: successful industrialist yes, but for him real life was riding a motorcycle.
In addition to being a collector, he was also one of the ten founding members and honorary president of the Benelli Historical Register, as well as the Tonino Benelli Motoclub in Pesaro. A connoisseur of the great motoring tradition of Pesaro and beyond.
Alberto Paccapelo remembers him fondly, president of Terra Piloti e Motori, an infinite passion for motorcycles realized first as a rider and then as a collector, creating a spectacular collection.
In September last year in the square of the Arci club in Villa Fastiggi, among a multitude of enthusiasts he made a Benelli roar again 350 it's a 500 cc, four-cylinder and four-stroke, 16 valves. Someone was covering their ears, others breathed happily there it smells terrible that came out of the mufflers. They were the bikes with which Jarno Saarinen made the Villa Fastiggi circuit a legend, because he tapped, with those two bikes, the unattainable Mv Agusta by Giacomo Agostini. It was the 20 August of 1972, fifty thousand people to see them, the Mv Agusta didn't leak from 5 years, and the Benellis once again made Pesaro pride run like it hadn't happened for a while.
From all of us at Terra di Piloti e Motori, deepest condolences to the entire family. We have lost a true and sincere enthusiast.
