62he edition of the Paolino Teodori Cup
The Paolino Teodori Cup rekindled the engines and, as already predicted, was full of emotions. The protagonists of the sixth round of the Italian Hill Climb Championship and the fifth of the FIA European Hill Climb Championship, they challenged each other for the points of the two top series.
Two races are scheduled on 5.031 meters between Colle San Marco and San Giacomo. The departure was given at 9.00 on Sunday 18 June, and only at the end of the second climb did the final ranking of the competition organized by the AC Ascoli Piceno Sports Group emerge.
E’ was also one “guerra” of the set ups between the major protagonists of the two series, in fact even minimal adjustments and tire choices made the decisive difference.
Beans lengthen in CIVM, in fact he leads the ranking of the Italian Mountain Speed Championship, taking full points. Great satisfaction for the Florentine from Best Lap driving the official Norma M20 FC Zytek car, with precise guidance the assault brought itself up to 561 thousandths of a second from the absolute top. Place of honor on the tricolor podium for “Achi” Lombardi and a good third by Di Fulvio, both on Osella.
Christian Merli sets the track record and wins in the FIA European Hill Climb Championship. The Trentino rider from Vimotorsport achieved the two best times, lowering the record to 2'09"872 achieved in the race 1.
Sun and large crowds on the weekend in the Marche region, great satisfaction was expressed by the organizers who underlined the commitment of the sports group and of the entire ACi of Ascoli Piceno. Both the Marche Region and the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno are in support.
This year too Terra Piloti Motors sponsored the event. Alessandro Rinolfi brought the greetings of the Association “We were born five years ago, with the idea of supporting motor sport in the Marche region. We try to support and patronize all events, not only from a sporting point of view, but also in the meaning of hospitality, of tourism, of knowledge of the territory. For this reason we have also promoted tourist routes suitable for cars and motorbikes, to make our regional territory known, also by means of agreements with the accommodation facilities. The synergy we created with the organizers of Ascoli Piceno was a must, for the importance of the Teodori Cup.”
