Land Pilots and Engines: appeal to continue the activity

 

Dear President Acquaroli, Dear Councilor Biondi,

the regional law n° 18 of the 15/5/2017 has identified the cultural heritage of motoring in the Marche region as a potential asset in which to invest resources for its conservation and development over time. Everyone knows that the regional motorcycle phenomenon, which includes universally recognized champions, top-notch companies and an exceptional supply chain of the highest quality, together with a vast panorama of classic car enthusiast clubs spanning the entire Region ,allows the Marche Region itself to be a protagonist in the sector at a national and international level.

In order therefore to implement the aforementioned law, i Municipalities of Pesaro and Tavullia, headquarters of important companies in the sector, they have established in 2017 the Land Association of Pilots and Motors, of which I am honored to be President.

Over the years the Association has been financed by the Marche region which has recognized its value at a regional level where its intervention in promoting events and supporting local realities has been highly appreciated by stakeholders ,from Pesaro to Ascoli Piceno, from Macerata to Fermo to Ancona and so on.

Already in 2022 had been reported to the SS.LL. of the need for refinance law n°18, but the letter sent, signed by all the motor clubs of the Marche, unfortunately remained unanswered.

During 2023, the Region did not finance it the Association that continued, trusting in the broad reassurances of regional representatives, its activities, albeit in a reduced form, anticipating the expenses which would then be reimbursed in the statement.

Unfortunately, this was not and only the providential intervention of the two founding members of the Association, the municipalities of Tavullia and Pesaro, it allowed you to reimburse the expenses paid in advance personally.

Also for the 2024 and following years, the refinancing of the law had been ensured from the budget forecast 2024. As far as we know, positive data has not been found this time either, at the moment, la Association is not in a position to continue its activities.

Thus continuing the situation, I will be forced, within a few months, to liquidate the Association and with it all the wealth of knowledge developed in recent years.

The disappointment remains broken promises and the realization of having worked in vain for all these years (for free) to contribute to the knowledge of our wonderful region,moreover in the year in which Pesaro and its province were elected Italian Capital of Culture, of which motoring culture, credo, it is legitimately part of it.

Given this, we ask the SS.LL. to review the position taken and to refinance law no 18 of the 2017.
